Stefan Brandt's style is a tribute to the materials used and to the top-level craftsmanship in the production.
The founder
To find answers to the big questions, Stefan Brandt studied physics. But his passion has always been fashion. After a postdoctoral fellowship in Cartagena, Colombia, he established his own production in Quito, Ecuador, a stronghold of jersey, in 1994. Since then he has been working on jersey collections and the development of new process techniques. Stefan Brandt's maxim is to produce the perfect product, regardless of cost, and to guarantee wear and care properties of a quality unmatched in the market.
Our journey began in the 1990s when our founder, Stefan Brandt, set out to revolutionize the world of cotton fabrics. Through relentless dedication, we have pioneered breakthrough process technologies that have resulted in tangible and measurable unique selling points.
Our secret lies in our exclusive use of selected bales of Peruvian ELS Pima cotton, also known as "Selected Pima", which we process through disruptive and innovative techniques. The luxurious cotton fabric is then painstakingly perfected using primarily manual techniques and a revolutionary 15-step PREFIT treatment.
This allows us to unlock the true potential of this "South American silk", creating cotton fabrics that are almost indistinguishable from silk itself.
Autodynamics of desire
Selective raw materials of the highest quality and pioneering process innovations enabled Stefan Brandt to make the leap in quality from exceptional to superlative. The desirable product with its fascinating properties alone was ultimately able to breathe life into the brand and bring about an autodynamic assertion on the market, without the use of any marketing tools. Pioneering companies in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the United States and Japan are now talking about a new era of wearing comfort.

A Promising Future for Stefan Brandt
At Stefan Brandt, we realize that our success is not defined solely by our luxury collections, but by our ability to inspire change. We strive to lead by example, showcasing that quality, luxury, and sustainability are not mutually exclusive, but can harmoniously work together.
We are humbled by the recognition we've received so far, and we pledge to continue delivering on our promise of unrivaled quality and sustainable luxury.
In our quest for the utmost control over quality and sustainability, we made the bold decision in 2022 to grow our own luxury Pima Cotton in Ecuador. Our first harvest has affirmed our commitment to vertical integration - from cotton cultivation and luxury jersey development to manufacture, incorporating sartorial unique selling points at every stage.
Few know that the origins of ELS Pima cotton can be traced back to the early Valdivia phase in Ecuador (4400 BC), predating its appearance in Peru and the Antilles (Sea Islands). By cultivating this world-class cotton in its region of origin, we honor its heritage and ensure an unparalleled level of quality for our clients.
Another historic development is that Stefan Brandt will start growing his own URPIMA SEA ISLAND® luxury cotton in Ecuador in 2022. The first signs of domestication of this luxury cotton species date back to the early Valdivia phase of the Ecuadorian coast (4400 BC). It is precisely here, at the place of production, that Stefan Brandt is now cultivating it again for the first time.
